Executive Board Meeting
August 16, 2011

The Board meeting was called to order at 6:30 by Wanda Anesh, our president, those in attendance were, Renee Pryor, Elaine Hirohama, Alan Corlin, John Kuechle, Nancy Kuechle, Aileen, Zeidman, Steve Wieber, Laura Frakes, May Jung, she took pictures at the "Alice" function.

Meeting called to order at 6:30p.m.

Standing Reports

Treasurer's Report John Koehler - We made $35.00 for "Alice" event.

Book Sale Chair's Report Steve Wieber - Many magazines have been sold. We have plenty of books for the Fiesta. The paper backs will sale well.

Alan said the van will not be available, do to an accident.

We will have new books from Sony. Irving Yalon books that is. Nancy will bring books as well.

Membership Report Sharon Hyland-Elstein was absent

Program Chair Nancy Kuechle/Elaine Hiroshima - We will need a van, Elaine will provide the drinks and signage and 2 - five foot tables, 1 - 6 foot table. Also, volunteers. Wanda will send out another notice for that. Kids are on summer vacation. Booths will stay open from 11:00a.m. - 6:00p.m., on Sunday, we may close earlier. Friday, we will meet at the library at 4:00p.m. or 5:00p.m. to load up and bring books, tables to the park. We will need to load up before 6:00p.m., on Friday, the library closes at 6:00p.m.

Alan will print flyers for the fiesta.

Wanda will ask if anyone has a truck or a van.

September 6th is story time with Celia Carroll. September 17th is miniatures with Bobbie Abood, she has miniature doll houses. October 4th is story time with Lynn Ebora, have her do something with Brad and Jan.

New president from West Los Angeles College, who may want to read.

Mystery play - No confirmation in an e-mail. The play will be after hours, from 6:00p.m. - 9:00p.m. We may serve wine and food.

December 3rd, the snow party.

December 5th, we will have a book sale and craft sale

Publication Chair Report Aileen Zeidman - No report, she needs help with flyers. The newsletter's needs to go out earlier for October with the nominations for the board 30 days prior to the November board meeting.

Librarian's Report Laura Frakes - The bench for the children's area has arrived.

The library will be closed on Thursday, August 18th for the annual staff training day.

No news about the proposed shed.

A job request has been submitted to re-hang the "Culver City Friends of the Library Book Sale Room" sign.

The new West Hollywood library will open some time next month.
