Executive Board Meeting
July 19, 2011

The Board meeting was called to order at 6:30p.m. by Wanda Anesh, our president, those in attendance were, Renee Pryor, Aileen Zeidman, Kevin Commins, Laura Frakes, Steve Wieber, Alan Corlin, Sharon Hyland-Elstein, and a guest, Jake Kharraz

The minutes were accepted.

Standing Reports

Treasurer's Report Book room still good.

Book Sale Chair's Report Steve Wieber - Jake will help out with the magazines.

Membership Report Sharon Hyland-Epstein - Nothing

Program Chair Nancy Kuechle/Elaine Hiroshima - Saturday, "Alice in Wonderland", a chart is here to help with the tea party. We will have tubs of licorice and popcorn. The set-up is at 5:00, light food will be served. Funds for the snacks is $200.00. Laura passed a motion for the $200.00, Kevin seconded it.

For August story time is with the new Principal from El Rincon, his name is Reginald Brunson.

No September story time.

On September 17th, miniatures with Bobbi.

Mystery Play - The play will be in November 5th. If, alcohol served, then insert that info into the e-mail. Food and alcohol is part of the cover charge.

Carol Schwab will be a member of the cast, and Patty Nechbar. Potential actors so far, Julie Lugo will be asked, she is an unofficial city historian, Alan Scott, Aileen's husband.

We will have one rehearsal, also very little work is involved. The board may need to help. We will contact the book club, which meets on Thursday.

Publication Chair Report Aileen Zeidman - Newsletter will be up tonight or tomorrow.

Library Report Laura Frakes - Laura said that the classic books shelving unit and the FOL donations lift table had both arrived. Still waiting for delivery of the children's area bench.

Joan has laryngitis but hopefully will be here for the Alice screening.

Laura passed out literature from allied Live about a forth coming collaboration with the library and the Kirk Douglas Theatre. Perhaps additional events will be planned. Possible the agency will provide free tickets to FOL members as well as book discussion group attendees.

Nothing to report regarding the new proposed shed.
