Executive Board Meeting
June 21, 2011

The Board meeting was called to order at 6:30p.m. by Wanda Anesh, out president, those in attendance were, Renee Pryor, Kevin Commins, Aileen Zeidman, Nancy Kuechle, John Kuechle, Sharon Hyland-Elstein, Steve Wieber, Laura Frakes, Elaine Hirohama.

The minutes were accepted.

Standing Reports

Treasurer's Report John Koehler - The book sale was a success, we made $2800.00

Book Sale Chair's Report Steve Wieber - Nothing to report

Membership Report Sharon Hyland-Elstein - Sharon and Steve's computer's have been hacked, perhaps other members as well.

Program Chair Nancy Kuechle/Elaine Hiroshima - For "Service Dog", about 100 people showed up, for the Tea event we had 30 people. David De Candia gave away some free products.

We would like the board to authorize looms for knitting for kids who never knitted before. A motion was passed to authorize $50.00 for the looms. The motion was carried by John.

July 5th, Alan Corlin will be the Mad Hatter.

Elaine will be the contact person for Motion Picture, Inc.

Festival La Ballona - set up at 5:00p.m. on Friday, or 11:00a.m. on Saturday.

Publication Chair Report Aileen Zeidman - Culver City principal's will do story time for August. July newsletter is going out.

Library Report Laura Frakes - Joan and Laura will attend the Alice in Wonderland screening but won't be attending the Fiesta La Ballona event.

Laura asked and received approval for: a new bench for the picture book area; a bookcase to shelve classic paperbacks; and a truck to help library staff move donations to he FOL area. The last item will stay CCFOL property.

A lift table is needed, the table is about $500.00. A shelving unit is also needed to replace the paper back shelf. A motion was passed by John to authorize up to $2,500.00.

County still explaining about shed.

Saturday the library will co-sponsor an event with the city - the grand opening of the newly renovated bike path.

Staff have ordered books for the CCUSD middle school reading list.

Laura is waiting for some departmental decisions before moving forward with library improvements - more to follow.

Old Business Mystery Play The play is doable, see if we can sell alcohol, charge food and admission. We will have one rehearsal, no lines to memorize. Casting is the biggest thing. Clues will be planted in the library. Maybe the supervisor will be invited. The play will cost $150.00, $20.00 for finger food and for the event. We can do this in November 5, 2011, which is on a Saturday, after 6:00. For the cast we will have 8 people, four men and four women. Laura will need approval. Prizes for the group or an individual who has the correct answer. We will need someone on the outside to oversee.
